The Brief

Seahawk Marine Foods Ltd are specialist importers and distributors of the worlds finest seafoods. Founded in 1982 and with a head office in Trowbridge, BSE UK were invited to quote for racking out a new cold storage warehouse in London.

Dexion P90 Pallet Racking

BSE UK specified Dexion Racking for this cold store application. The brief was to rack out two areas of the new site, the main warehouse used for cold storage and a smaller picking warehouse which was also operating at cold store temperature.

ITEM 1 – Main Warehouse Cold Store

Pallet Details

  • UK Pallet – 1200mm (wide) x 1000mm (deep) x 1800mm (high)
  • Load – 1250kgs per pallet

Dexion Racking Bay Details

  • 2700mm Clear Entry Bay x 5000mm High Frame x 900mm deep each face.
  • Each Bay is fitted with 2 Beam levels nominally set at 2280mm and 4580mm.

Warehouse Layout Details

  • 2 x Single Entry Racks comprising 12 Type 1 bays and 1 Type 2 bay, with a 35,010mm overall length
  • 6 x Double Entry Racks comprising 11 Type 1 bays and 1 Type 2 bay, with a 32,220mm overall length.
  • All Double Entry Racks are fitted with a Dexion Drop In style barrier at the main operating end.

Finish

  • Frames – Pre Galvanised
  • Beams – Pre Galvanised

Rack Protection

  • Dexion Rack End Barriers fitted to ends of racks.

Loading

  • Beam Load – 2500 Kg UDL per beam level
  • Maximum Bay Load 5000 kgs per bay
